# Challenge

> Put what you have learned into practice. Complete one or more of the following tasks using Claude.

    Time required: approximately 15 minutes

      <Step title="Pick a real task from your week">
        Choose something you actually need done, such as drafting a meeting summary, writing a client email, or reviewing a document.

      <Step title="Upload your source material">
        Add the relevant file into your Claude chat. This could be meeting notes, a report, a brief, or an email thread.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Write a prompt with context and instructions">
        Include four things in your prompt: the task, the audience, the format you want, and any constraints. For example: "Summarise this meeting transcript for my team. Use bullet points, keep it under 150 words, and highlight any action items with owners and deadlines."
      </Step>

      <Step title="Refine with a follow-up">
        Review Claude's first response. Then ask it to adjust one thing, such as tone, length, or detail level. For example: "Make this more concise and remove the background section."

    Time required: approximately 20 minutes

      <Step title="Identify a repeating task">
        Think of something you do regularly, such as writing weekly updates, preparing client summaries, or reviewing proposals.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Create a new Project">
        Go to Projects in the sidebar and click "Create Project." Name it clearly, for example "Weekly Team Updates" or "Client Proposal Reviews."
      </Step>

      <Step title="Add your reference files">
        Upload 2 to 3 files that Claude should always have access to for this task. These could be templates, brand guidelines, past examples, or reference documents.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Write custom instructions">
        In the Project instructions, tell Claude how to behave. For example: "You are helping me write weekly project updates. Use a professional tone, Australian English spelling, and keep each update under 200 words. Always include a risks section."
      </Step>

      <Step title="Start a conversation inside the Project">
        Open a new chat within your Project and give Claude a task. Notice how it references your uploaded files and follows your instructions without being asked.

      You have completed this challenge when Claude produces an output that follows your saved instructions and references your uploaded files, without you needing to repeat any of that context.

    Time required: approximately 30 minutes

      <Step title="Choose a topic you need to understand">
        Pick a real question relevant to your role. For example: a new regulation affecting your industry, a competitor's recent product launch, or a technology your team is evaluating.

      <Step title="Turn on Research mode">
        Start a new Claude chat and enable Research. This tells Claude to search across multiple sources and compile a structured report.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Write a focused research prompt">
        Be specific about what you need and how you want it structured. For example: "Research the latest changes to Australian privacy regulations affecting financial services. Summarise the key changes, who is impacted, and what actions businesses should take. Structure this as a one-page briefing document."
      </Step>

      <Step title="Add your own context for comparison">
        Upload an internal document, such as your current compliance policy or a team briefing. Then ask: "Compare what you found with the attached document. Identify any gaps or areas we need to update."
      </Step>

      <Step title="Export the final output">
        Ask Claude to create a Word document or presentation from the findings so you can share it with your team.
      </Step>
