Video overview
The starting point vs. the destination

The Starting Point: Efficiency
Your first instinct is probably to look for ways to make your work faster or cheaper. That’s a great starting point, and AI is fantastic at that, but it’s only the beginning.

The Destination: Reimagine
The real, long-term value comes when you use AI to reimagine your work. This creates an unlimited ceiling where you can discover new ways of working and create new value.
Three ways AI can help you
Spark new ideas
Spark new ideas
Use AI as a brainstorming partner to explore possibilities you haven’t considered, challenge your assumptions, and uncover innovative approaches to problems.
Create new processes
Create new processes
Don’t just automate old workflows, use AI to help you redesign and improve them. AI can help you reimagine how work gets done, creating smarter, more effective systems from the ground up.
Offer new experiences
Offer new experiences
Create entirely new customer experiences, employee interactions, and service offerings that weren’t feasible before AI.
Where we are today: A historical parallel
It’s easy to be skeptical. This has happened before. In 2000, a newspaper claimed the Internet ‘may be just a passing fad’. The complaints then are the same ones we hear about AI today.
This tells us we are still in the early stage, the “inflection point”, where the initial hype fades and the real, practical value starts to grow exponentially. If you’ve been dismissive of AI, now is the time to pay attention.
How AI works: A human analogy
The core functional components of an AI system can be likened to distinct parts that mirror human functions. Together, these elements explain how an AI perceives, reasons, and interacts with the world.Model (Education)
The AI’s core “brain” or intelligence level. Think “graduate level” or “PhD”.
Modalities (Senses)
How it interacts with the world: Read, Write, Speak, Hear, See.
Guardrails (Morals)
The non-negotiable rules it must follow.
Context (Experience)
The specific information you provide, like documents or project history.
Tools
Specific actions it can take, like an “internet search”.
Learning
How it improves from your feedback (e.g., Thumbs up/down).
But isn’t it unreliable? It’s getting smarter fast
A common reason to dismiss AI is that it “makes things up” or gives wrong answers (known as hallucinations). While this is a real issue, the technology is improving at an incredible rate.Hallucinations are Dropping
Newer models, like OpenAI’s GPT-5, have reduced hallucination rates by up to five times. They are becoming far more accurate and reliable for factual tasks.
It's Learning to Say 'I Don't Know'
Crucially, the best new models are learning robustness. Instead of guessing, they are now more likely to admit when they don’t know an answer, which builds trust and makes them a more reliable partner.
The brain vs. the job role: Your new hires
If we continue with our human analogy, the Model is the core intelligence of the AI. These are housed and often available to select within the General AI products you open and interact with (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude).

AI as an Assistant: Your reliable graduate
AI as an Assistant: Your reliable graduate
The Assistant handles the repetitive and routine work that fills your day. It’s reactive, waiting for your direction, and works best with short, clear prompts. Think of them as a skilled junior team member who’s fast, accurate, and tireless, but needs your guidance. Their main goal is to free up time for you to focus on more important items.Use it for:
- Turning data into quick insights
- Creating consistent templates or checklists
- Drafting emails, summaries, or meeting notes
- Organising information or scheduling tasks
AI as a Thinker: Your strategic advisor
AI as a Thinker: Your strategic advisor
The Thinker goes beyond execution. It can help you analyse, research and make better decisions. It’s proactive and can manage multi-step, complex work with the right prompts. Think of them as a trusted expert with a PhD; it doesn’t do the admin, but it gives you insight and direction. Their main goal is to be your thought partner that strengthens your decision-making.Use it for:
- Researching markets or competitors
- Building business cases or strategic plans
- Writing frameworks, reports, or recommendations
- Testing ideas or stress-testing assumptions
AI as a Creator: Your content powerhouse
AI as a Creator: Your content powerhouse
The Creator helps you move from concept to first draft in minutes. It’s not perfect (yet), but it’s brilliant for generating ideas and creative outputs. It is a creative producer who works fast and gives you plenty to build on. Its goal is to accelerate decision-making, creation and experimentation toward a vision before committing to final creative outputs.Use it for:
- Creating images, videos, or presentations
- Designing concepts, wireframes, or prototypes
- Brainstorming campaign ideas or taglines
Your opportunity: How to actually get started
The fastest way to understand what’s possible? Simply start using it!At work
- Increase your productivity
- Make core tasks faster and smarter
- Find new ideas and ways of working
At home
- Automate the boring stuff
- Get a personal digital assistant
- Learn and upskill faster than ever
