Challenge 1: Use the three roles method
Challenge 1: Use the three roles method
Open Claude and try each of the three roles with the same piece of work:
- Assistant: Paste meeting notes or a messy email thread. Use the starter prompt: “You’re my Assistant. Turn this into a punchy action list with owners and due dates. Keep it short.”
- Thinker: Ask Claude to help you decide between two options at work. Use: “You’re my Thinker. Give me 3 options, a pros/cons table, then recommend one and explain why.”
- Creator: Ask Claude to draft something from scratch. Use: “You’re my Creator. Draft a first version with headings and bullets. Friendly, professional, and not too long.”
Challenge 2: Match the model to the task
Challenge 2: Match the model to the task
Practice selecting the right model and thinking mode for different tasks:
- Quick lookup: Ask Claude a simple factual question using Haiku or Sonnet in standard mode. Notice how fast it responds.
- Everyday writing: Draft a short email using Sonnet. Observe the balance between speed and quality.
- Complex reasoning: Ask Claude to analyse a multi-step problem using Opus with extended thinking. Compare the depth of reasoning to your earlier responses.
Challenge 3: Add context three ways
Challenge 3: Add context three ways
Test the different ways to give Claude the information it needs:
- File upload: Click the attachment icon and upload a PDF or document. Ask Claude a question about its contents.
- Connectors: If available, link Claude to Google Drive or another tool. Ask it to search for a specific document.
- Projects: Create a new Project and upload a reference document (like a style guide or template). Start a conversation and see how Claude uses it.
